Plan G vs. Plan N — what’s the difference?

If you have a Medicare Supplement in Northern Kentucky, Plan G and Plan N can both provide strong coverage — but the way you pay for that coverage is a little different.

Plan G:
• Higher monthly premium
• Fewer out-of-pocket surprises
• Covers Part B excess charges

Plan N:
• Usually lower monthly premium
• Small copays may apply
• Does not cover Part B excess charges

Both plans allow you to see any provider that accepts Medicare — there is no Medicare Supplement provider network.

If your Medicare Supplement premium has increased, it may be worth comparing your options.

Thank you to the Campbell County Public Library – Fort Thomas Branch and everyone who joined us on Thursday for our Medicare & Medicaid Round Table!

I really enjoyed the opportunity to meet with local residents, answer questions and talk through some of the things that can make Medicare so confusing.

Medicare’s new GLP-1 weight-management program is now available.

Beginning July 1, eligible Medicare beneficiaries with Part D prescription coverage may be able to receive certain GLP-1 medications for $50 per month.

Covered medications currently include:

• Wegovy
• Zepbound KwikPen
• Foundayo tablets

How do you get started?

Contact your doctor or healthcare provider.
Ask whether you qualify for the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge for weight management.
If appropriate, your provider will send the prescription to your pharmacy.
Your provider will then complete the required prior authorization.
Medicare will notify you after the request is reviewed.

You must meet Medicare’s medical eligibility requirements. Having Medicare alone does not automatically qualify you.
