Today, our hearts are broken.
We mourn Jewish lives taken by violence—lives that were full of meaning, tradition, laughter, and love. Each life mattered. Each name carried a story. And each loss leaves a silence that should never have existed.
What happened is not just an attack on a people—it is an attack on our shared humanity. There is no justification, no excuse, and no place in this world for hatred, antisemitism, or violence. None. A society that allows fear to replace celebration, or hatred to replace love, loses its soul.
No one should ever be afraid to gather with family, to pray openly, or to celebrate who they are. Jewish life is meant to be lived in the light—freely, proudly, and without fear. When that freedom is threatened, it is our responsibility to stand up and protect it together.
And yet, even in this darkness, we choose love.
We choose love because love is stronger than hatred. We choose love because healing begins when we refuse to let violence harden our hearts. We grieve—but we do not give up. We remember—but we also rise.
Healing does not mean forgetting. Healing means honoring the lives lost by building a world where such loss is never repeated. It means speaking out when silence feels easier. It means standing shoulder to shoulder and saying: You are not alone. You are seen. You are loved.
To the families who are grieving, to the Jewish community who is hurting: we stand with you. Your pain matters. Your lives matter. Your right to live and celebrate freely will always matter.
May the memory of those taken be a blessing. May love be louder than hate. And may we find the courage—not tomorrow, but today—to heal this world together.
