Did you know Medicare covers a lot more than doctor visits when you are sick? Many preventive services, like your Annual Wellness Visit, mammograms, colon cancer screenings, and flu shots, cost you nothing when you see a doctor who accepts Medicare.

With the Annual Enrollment Period underway, now is a good time to put those benefits to work. If you have not had your wellness visit this year, schedule it, and ask your doctor which screenings you are due for.

Medicare covers many preventive screenings, shots, and yearly wellness visits at no cost, but many people never use them. Here is what your plan already includes and how to put those benefits to work this enrollment season.

Most people think the Annual Enrollment Period is the only time they can change their Medicare plan. Not quite.
AEP is open now through December 7, and it is the best time to review your coverage for next year. But there is also a second window from January 1 through March 31 for people already on a Medicare Advantage plan, plus Special Enrollment Periods when big life changes happen, like moving or losing other coverage.
Our newest blog breaks it all down in plain English.

If something feels off with your plan this year, now is the time to take a look. Call us at 954-329-1530 and we will walk through your options with you.

Our team was featured on NBC 6 News talking about Medicare changes coming in 2027. With Annual Enrollment open now through December 7, this is the time to make sure your plan still fits. Watch the segment here:

Medicare open enrollment is underway, and some beneficiaries are facing a trifecta of changes: higher costs, fewer benefits and more restrictions on where they can get care. NBC6’s Sheli Muñiz reports

The Annual Enrollment Period opens this Thursday, October 15. Before you make any changes for next year, make sure you are not working off one of these five common myths: your plan renewing automatically, a zero premium meaning free coverage, assuming your doctors and drugs are covered, thinking you can switch anytime, and assuming Medicare covers everything.

We break all five down in plain language on this week's blog post. Pull out your Annual Notice of Change and take ten minutes to read it. It could save you real money in 2027.

Questions? Call us at 954-329-1530. We walk through your doctors, prescriptions, and budget together, at no cost to you.

Friends, a quick heads up as we close out September.

If you have been getting calls about your 2027 Medicare plan, here is something worth knowing: Medicare rules say plans and agents may not market next year's offerings before October 1. So an unsolicited call in September about your 2027 plan is either a marketing violation or an outright scam. Either way, hang up. You are right either way.

A few specific schemes are making the rounds right now:

The Part D refund call. The caller says you are owed a refund and needs your bank routing number to direct deposit it. There is no Medicare Refund Department. Medicare does not process refunds by phone and never asks for your banking information on a call.

The plastic Medicare card call. They say you need a new plastic or chip card and ask for your Social Security number to activate it. Medicare's standard card is paper, legitimate replacements are free, and Medicare will never call you out of the blue asking for your Social Security number.

The MyChart text. A text or email promises a free Medicare Kit or Senior Health Package if you click a link. The kit does not exist, and dozens of health systems have warned patients about this phishing campaign. Do not click. Open your portal through the official app instead.

One more thing: your caller ID saying "Medicare" means nothing. It can be faked, and some scammers now use AI voices to sound official.

How to tell a real call from a fake one: a real one never pressures you, never threatens you, never demands secrecy, and never asks for your Medicare number, Social Security number, or bank details on an unsolicited call.

If you want to verify something a caller said, look the number up yourself and call 1-800-MEDICARE. To report suspected fraud, call 1-800-HHS-TIPS.

And when Annual Enrollment opens October 15 and you want to review your real 2027 options, talk to someone local you can reach by name. Call Medicare Advisors of South Florida at 954-329-1530. No pressure, no surprises.
