Her grandfather would take her father for vacations to Estes Park, Colorado and he just loved being in the mountains. So in 1974, Susan’s father moved the family to Estes Park and they enjoyed his dream of living in the mountains. Susan attended grade school at Estes Park Elementary and is a proud graduate of Estes Park High School. After a brief excursion at CU - Boulder, she started working for
The Estes Park Bank in 1986 and began learning the ropes of the banking world. In 1993, she moved to Fort Collins and became a full time student at CSU while being a part-time administrative assistant/Real Estate Department at First National Bank. In May 1997, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree (Finance/Real Estate) from Colorado State University. She was later promoted to a Junior Construction Lender/Real Estate Department at First National Bank in Fort Collins. Susan had an opportunity to work and live in Loveland, so she went to Centennial Bank of the West in Loveland and began as AVP/loan officer in November 2000, and was promoted to Branch President in May 2002. She managed 8 employees and created and implemented an efficient loan workflow process. She also was responsible for credit approval recommendations based on collected data, presentation of credit requests to loan committees and monitoring of the loan closing process. Susan always had an interest in the mortgage industry, so in October 2006 she started with 1st City Mortgage Group, Fort Collins, CO as a Mortgage Loan Consultant. The mortgage industry has had a lot of turmoil in recent years; Susan still finds it fulfilling and rewarding, knowing that she is making a positive difference in people’s lives through homeownership. Some of Susan’s hobbies are creating homemade greeting cards, spending as much time possible in her vegetable and flower gardens, and most of all, spending time with her wonderful husband (married 1997), two cats and a dog. Susan loves getting to the beautiful mountains of Estes Park, as it allows her to “re-charge her batteries.”
