Happy Friday, Friends!

Last weekend we continued celebrating America’s 250th with an incredible Thunderbird Air Show in Indiana! It was truly extraordinary to see the skill of our top Air Force pilots in person. The show even ended with ground fireworks, planes shooting fireworks, and a drone show such a fun experience!

If you haven’t had the chance to see the Thunderbirds yet, there’s another show in Indiana this weekend! I included their remaining 2026 schedule in the photos.

If you’d rather stick a little closer to home, there’s plenty happening around Decatur this weekend too!

Friday night, head to Golden Fox Brewery for Game Night from 6–10 PM, or catch Country Tribute Night at The Devon at 7 PM featuring the music of Chris Stapleton, Eric Church & Lainey Wilson. Golden Fox is also celebrating their 10 year anniversary all weekend long!

Saturday morning, you can stop by Mercy Market at Preston Jackson Park or the Decatur Central Park Farmers Market, both from 8 AM–12 PM. Later in the day, the 1st Annual Reflective Girls Community Cookout will be at Hess Park from 12–9 PM.

And of course, it’s officially Friday Night Lights season! Get out and support your favorite local high school football team!

Happy Back to School everyone! The time goes so fast ….my 1st grader is now a Senior at Purdue! I’m so proud of Livy and I have enjoyed every second supporting her dreams through these years.

Students- make the most of your time at school and get involved in the activities your school has to offer.
Appreciate your teaches and coaches and show them respect!!!! These experiences good and bad will become life lessons learned.

Parents-the schedules and driving can be hectic, but well worth your time and effort for your future young adults. The car rides are great times to talk and listen. Also, support your teachers and coaches, we may not always agree with them, but that’s ok.

And everyone, please remember to show your teachers and coaches some appreciation, say Thank You! Small things like gift cards, personal items, snacks for the classroom or teachers lounge, etc. are great ways to brighten their day once in a while. They deserve it!!!

I wish everyone a safe, productive and fun school year.
