In the past, the Aiken & Company was mostly known as a family business but today it is considered a business family employing a team of highly-trained, seasoned and dedicated professionals. From modest beginnings, Aiken & Company has grown into one of the largest insurance & real estate organizations in the P*e Dee area. It was first established in 1914 as a life insurance firm by Jefferson Boone Aiken. In the early 1920's, Aiken & Company was expanded to include commercial and residential real estate. Much of the success of Aiken & Company is attributed to Jefferson B. Aiken, Jr., one of the sons of the founder of the company. Today Aiken & Company is led by President & CEO, Lynn R.Owens. Lynn has been with Aiken & Company since 1970. Lynn is a lifelong resident of Florence and a graduate of the University of South Carolina. He is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and a graduate of The Aetna Casualty and Surety School of Insurance, Hartford, CT. In addition to insurance advising and risk management, Lynn has his Real Estate broker's license and currently serves as Broker In Charge for Aiken & Company, Inc. Many of the employees at Aiken & Company have been with the company for more than 25 years and are still diligently working to ensure the company maintains its place as a leading provider of insurance, financial services and real estate. Owens and the Aiken & Company staff plan to extend the legacy of continuing to provide the best service possible to their loyal customers.
