Our agency was founded by Robert McLean in 1975 as a Nationwide Insurance Agency located in Florence, SC. Its success is attributed to personal service combined delivered with a sense of urgency with a focus on community service. Erik and Laura Marechal, McLean’s daughter and son in law, purchased the agency in 2005; and McLean Marechal Insurance and Financial Services was formed.

Since 2005, the agency has become one of the largest agencies for Nationwide in South Carolina. Today the agency has 19 advisors and is a full-service firm providing personal, commercial, farm, and agribusiness insurance. The agency is recognized for its specialization insuring farm and commercial agribusiness companies. Ag Insurance Advisors is recognized as one of the largest agencies serving this niche in SC, GA, and NC.

In 2020, McLean Marechal Insurance became an independent agency, continuing its strong relationship with Nationwide, but expanding its depth and breadth of resources to include 10 of the top-rated insurance companies in America.

Desiring to expand its geography, in 2022 the agency acquired Kight Insurance agency with offices in Sumter and Manning. This is a natural fit due to the large number of farms and commercial clients in Sumter and Clarendon counties.

The Accountable Insurance Partners name and brand represents the operating philosophy for the collection of companies that operate as one agency today.
