Congratulations to our May Hornet Award winner: Jarvis Richardson, Director of Student Nutrition Services!
Excerpt from nomination:
"Mr. Richardson joined our team at the end of the school year last year. Upon entering he was challenged with a government review/audit. He navigated through numerous challenges of getting food logs, documents, accounts, certificates, paperwork, supplies, menus, and equipment logs to successfully pass that review.
Coming into the new school year, he implemented new methods of training in effort to create a more cohesive and effective environment for all the buildings. Including, but not limited to, team building activities, introducing new and previously hired individuals, creating communication lines between staff and upper management, creating up to date allergy/nutrition paperwork for parents in effort to accommodate student needs/restrictions, obtaining necessary equipment to accommodate stock and specialty items. He also arranged for every member of food service to have the training and opportunity to receive serve-safe certification.
He makes a presence in all buildings for staff and administrators to have conversations on anything they may need to discuss or inquire about."
