Part of my role in the community is serving in multiple capacities. One of the roles I serve in is managing the finances for the Flint Police Department CSC unit. My Sergeant has taken on the challenge of showcasing her work in the community by helping survivors get justice.
This year, after the 3rd annual the conference ended with a Gala to celebrate the survivors and their bravery during difficult times.

Raised by her mother and grandmother, Carissa Bush learned the importance of caring for others with genuine curiosity and compassion. As a teen and young adult, Bush honed her “superpower” ability to listen and connect with people — especially when they need support or resources.

After a career in logistics, she began working as a financial representative at Northwestern Mutual in 2020. There, she adopted a holistic approach to financial planning, ensuring that clients’ dreams and emotional needs were at the heart of her work.
