Do you have Service Line coverage on your Homeowners Insurance policy? You should check. The homeowner is responsible for any service line blockage between the home and the City sewer main. This includes debris and tree roots. The homeowner is responsible for any repairs on the service line from the home to and including the connection at the property line. Attention Madison area landlords. Will your lease hold up in court? Tenant-Landlord law has changed over the past couple of years. Notice to enter a tenant's unit (you need to give 12 hours notice), rent not paid (need to give a 5-day eviction notice), storing personal property for an evicted tenant (no longer needed), how long does a landlord have to return a security deposit (21 days).
