It’s National Ampersand Day and we have a pretty good reason to celebrate. & 💙

Did you know the ampersand dates back nearly 2,000 years? It began as a handwritten combination of the Latin letters “e” and “t,” forming a symbol for the word and. Even the name “ampersand” comes from an old way of reciting the alphabet: “and per se and,” meaning “and, by itself, means and.”

Pretty cool for one little symbol.

And for us, the & means a lot.

If you stopped by any of our branches recently, you probably noticed we were collecting school supplies. Our Operation Backpack school supply drive was hugely successful - due to our amazing customers and community members dropping by with donations, as well as the commitment of our team.

Sandy Basler, who recently retired from RBT, made a donation for school supplies, and asked Business Banking Officer Chris Connors if he would go shopping to help out the kids at the Boys & Girls Club of Fitchburg and Leominster.
