Business is wrapping up for 2023.
I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting lately.
One thing that ‘forces’ me to reflect each year is when I select my pictures for a desk calendar I’ve been giving my mom for the past 5 Christmases. I challenge myself to pick only one photo of our family from each month of the past year (2023 for this year).
It’s a great exercise that helps me remember just how much life can happen in a year and it’s a tangible way I can help ‘bridge’ the physical distance between my mom and me.
I don’t have photos to capture these last 12 months for my business, but I can reflect on some ‘highs and lows’.
I must admit, I do tend to be hard on myself, and sometimes I can get a bit down and mopey about it. Couple that with seasonal work challenges, blah weather, and an extra busy holiday schedule…well, it can be a bad combo for my emotional well-being.
I did take a beat to ‘feel blue’ for an evening this past week, but I woke up the next day ready to work!
This year, I’m learning to be more kind to myself. I’m learning to accept the bad with the good and know they’re both important for moving forward.
I’m not letting the bad stuff slow me down and I’m excited for 2024…despite some big unsolved question marks hanging in the balance.
I know I’ll be seeking help and wisdom from others and I look forward to that process unfolding.
I have faith and trust it will all work out. It always has – and I give all credit to God.
Here are just a few of my business highlights from 2023:
-Highs:
- re-doing my website / getting a blog up & going / using some new biz tools / creating a free new client tool / being more active on social media / coaching some amazing clients / facilitating & teaching three group learning experiences / being interviewed by a new friend and colleague / experiencing some transformative coaching / meeting some amazing new people / helping some clients save money & reduce expenses
-Lows:
- not reaching some of my internal business initiatives, goals and benchmarks / not have the operational systems built out and set up as I someday hope they are / doing too much work for free / having some prospects suck up a ton of effort …but not result in a client relationship / working temporarily with a client that was not a good fit.
Highs and lows will always be a part of life, but having my family by my side helps me endure the turbulence.
Doing life with my family is my greatest gift. They are my motivators, inspiration, and a source of strength. I am blessed beyond measure to have them by my side.
Find your people - being a family member isn’t a pre-requisite. Friends are just as helpful!
Wishing you and yours all glad tidings and a fruitful 2024 and beyond!
