We talk about Detroit.

We talk about Traverse City.

We talk about Grand Rapids.

Tonight, forget the obvious answers.

What smaller town deserves way more attention than it gets?

Maybe it has an incredible downtown.

A restaurant worth driving an hour for.

A perfect beach.

A great little bookstore.

A beautiful Main Street.

Or maybe it’s just one of those places where you pull in and immediately think, “I could live here.”

Give us the town AND tell us why.

We’re going to use some of your answers for future community spotlights.

Here’s your 60-second driveway check.

Look at all four tires.

Is the tread wearing evenly?

Any cracks?

Any bulges?

Does one look noticeably lower than the others?

And when was the last time you actually checked the pressure instead of waiting for the dashboard light?

Tires are easy to ignore because they’re always there.

Until suddenly they’re the only thing between your car and a wet road.

When did you last check yours?

You’ve got friends visiting Grand Rapids for the first time.

They give you one day to convince them they need to come back.

Where are you taking them?

Breakfast?

A favorite neighborhood?

Downtown?

A brewery?

A park?

Dinner somewhere they’d never find on their own?

We want the places locals actually recommend, not the answer from the first page of a travel guide.

Detroit gets plenty of credit for building cars.

But Michigan helped change the roads underneath them too.

As automobiles became part of everyday life, the state became an important testing ground for better roads, new manufacturing methods, and an entirely different way of getting around.

It’s easy to look at an old car and see history.

Sometimes the road underneath it has just as much of a story.

What piece of Michigan history should we dig into next?

Let’s build a bucket list in the comments.

Someone moves here tomorrow and asks you:

“What’s the ONE place I absolutely have to see?”

You only get one answer.

Sleeping Bear?

Pictured Rocks?

Mackinac Island?

The Soo Locks?

A favorite lake nobody talks about?

A tiny town that deserves way more attention?

No top-five lists. No honorable mentions.

You get ONE.

Where are you sending them?

Sometimes the best day trip is just picking a direction and going.

Port Austin makes a pretty convincing case for heading toward the tip of the Thumb.

Lake Huron.

A small downtown.

A harbor.

A slower pace.

And plenty to explore nearby if you decide you’re not ready to head home yet.

If you’ve spent time around Port Austin, help somebody planning their first trip:

What’s the one stop they shouldn’t miss?

Friday at 6:30 has two very different possibilities.

One version of you is getting ready to head downtown.

Dinner. A patio. Maybe a couple stops after that. Walking around until you finally decide where the night is actually going.

The other version already changed into comfortable clothes, ordered food, and has absolutely no intention of leaving the house again.

Both are excellent decisions.

Royal Oak, which version are you tonight?

And if you're heading out, where's the first stop?

Think about everything you’ve changed around the house in the last few years.

Finished the basement?

Built a deck?

Remodeled the kitchen?

Added a shed, pole barn, generator, hot tub, or expensive new equipment?

It’s easy to finish a project and never think about your homeowners policy again.

But the house you insure today might not be the same house you originally insured.

Before your next renewal, make a quick list of the improvements you’ve made and ask whether anything needs to be updated.

What’s the best project you’ve done to your house?

Here's something people don't always realize about insurance.

The company that's extremely competitive for one household may look completely different for another.

Location matters.

Vehicles matter.

The home matters.

Coverage choices matter.

And different carriers weigh those factors differently.

That's why the cheapest company for your friend across town isn't automatically the best option for you.

Insurance really isn't one-size-fits-all.

Curious whether your current carrier is still the right fit?

Let's make this unfairly difficult.

You get one summer evening and two choices:

Fenton.

Or Holly.

Dinner downtown.

A walk around town.

Maybe a drink, dessert, or just a slow evening with nowhere else to be.

Which one are you picking?

And more importantly, where are you stopping first?
