🌳🏠 TREE DOWN? WILL INSURANCE PAY?
Not always!
✅ Usually covered: A covered event like wind, lightning, or a storm causes the tree to fall and damage your home or another covered structure.
❌ May not be covered: The tree falls because of rot, disease, neglect, or poor maintenance—or falls without damaging a covered structure.
A neighbor’s tree falls on your house—does their insurance pay? Not necessarily!

🌲 Neighbor’s tree: If their tree falls on your property because of a covered event, your homeowners policy will often handle the damage to your home. If the neighbor was negligent—for example, they knew the tree was dangerously dead—the situation could be different.

⚠️ Bottom line: Your policy, deductible, exclusions, and the cause of the loss all matter.
