The Lake Agassiz Kiwanis meet every Monday at noon at the Ramada in Fargo (3333 13th Avenue South). After socializing, lunch and a short business meeting, we listen to a speaker, gain information through a presentation, or participate in a tour of a local business or venue. The events, speakers and programs broaden members' community perspective, enrich their knowledge, and sometimes are even good
for a laugh or two. To support the financial contributions given to various youth focused organizations, the Lake Agassiz Kiwanis Club sponsors the Red River Valley Sportsman's Show and the Boat Show, which are held each winter at the Fargodome. These two shows are the two main fundraising events for the club, and members participate by taking tickets, checking in vendors, manning the Kiwanis booth, and participating in many other activities. It's a great way to meet the public, see two outstanding shows, and enjoy fellowship with club members. To date, we have raised over $500,000 primarily dedicated to Fargo youth endeavors. In addition to ringing the bell for the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign, the club is responsible for ditch and berm cleaning along part of Fargo's 25th Street South, which is done each spring and fall. Members of the Lake Agassiz Kiwanis Club get to meet new people, take pride in their community, build enduring friendships, develop business contacts, gain insight into local and regional issues, participate in fun & interesting events, and sharpen their leadership skills.
