Eric Silverman is considered one of the most recognized authorities and disruptive forces in enhanced employee funded benefits (the industry formerly known as “voluntary”). Widely known as

a subject matter expert with more than 17 years of employee benefit sales, marketing, management, and recruiting experience. He is often sought after and interviewed by various industry journalists and is routinely asked to deliver key note speeches and speak on various panels at many national industrywide conferences. Eric has received the 2017 “Voluntary Adviser of the Year” award by Employee Benefit Adviser (EBA) magazine – the highest industrywide honor given to only one voluntary adviser annually. Eric also serves on the Workplace Benefits Association Advisory Board and has been honored as a “Rising Star in Advising," voted as 1 of the top 30 “Benefit Pros to Follow” on Twitter, and can be found within EBA’s online magazine as a regularly featured commentator. Eric has recruited, trained, and developed more than 2,000 commission sales agents, interns and broker partners, which led to the securing of more than 2,500 payroll accounts and the generation of more than $65 million in gross annualized revenue. Eric earns new business through the procurement and development of broker partners and the recruiting of college interns and career agents to support his broker focused initiative. SBG, the broker’s broker, is a carrier agnostic benefits boutique with multiple decades of proven experience within the small, mid, and large group market. SBG has a large national footprint with in-house distribution and an enrollment arm that allows them to become not only the enhanced benefits firm of choice for their broker partners, but also the enrollment firm for complete end-to-end benefits installation and service. SBG is appointed with all of the industry’s best-in-breed carriers and has top tier contracts with volume based carrier underwriting concessions that extend to all of SBG’s partner firms. Personally, Eric is originally from the DC area and went to college in Baltimore where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in marketing from Towson University. Eric is a huge Baltimore Orioles baseball fan and is heavily involved in his community where he sits on the city’s board for youth baseball and volunteers as a little league head coach.

Every February 1st, Susan Combs kicks off her annual campaign to support the University of Missouri-Columbia, School of Law Veterans Clinic, which helps veterans and their families navigate the VA claims process and secure disability benefits when they are faced with obstacles along the way.

Combs & Company, will make a donation to the Veterans Clinic for every pancake-loving picture posted on social media that uses the hashtag .
