Here's our theory for the trump tariff on Swiss Gold - Swiss gold is .9999, investment quality preferred by governments and banks. By decreasing the demand by US citizens and US businesses (they can go to another refinery), the US Government can easily swoop in and buy, then import it without the tariff because it's the government.

I literally don't see the logic behind putting a tariff on kilo and 100oz bars from one country besides it helping the US government in this way.
