June 1st. That was the day I had planned to have the new shop up and running. Apparently I had unrealistic expectations. There are still about 30+ boxes of parts, tools, fixtures, and supplies to find unpack clean and organize. This was a disappointing development to me, because I had a timeline trifecta planned.
1. June 1st 2026 New shop opens
2. June 1st, 1993 GTRCPR opens...... 33yrs.
3. June 1st, 1976 Business license goes into effect...... 50yrs.
So, anyway. I did not make my timeline, it will have to be a little longer. Maybe I can work this into another co-inkidink somehow. In the mean time here are some pics of what is going on. Oh, and buy the way the business license and shop openings were purely coincidental.

Just a quick post to thank everyone who has checked in on me the last two days. Yes, thankfully I dodged another bullet yesterday when the area of the old shop was hit again by heavy rains. Less than a year since the last round. I knew it was going to happen again. It was just a matter of when and if I would have found a new location before it hit the fan again. Other than a bit of PTSD I was fine. I do feel for the old friends in the area.

A customer stopped by as I was packing up the shop, wanted to take a few phots and mentioned I should be documenting it. When he left I picked up the go pro. This is the result over a few days.

As I was closing down the shop for moving, a customer stopped by. They mentioned I should document it and wanted to take a couple pictures. So here are a f...

So, in the middle of this move I was reminded this morning of all the little aggravations that I dealt with here on a daily basis. Almost every day I had to pick up trash left behind from individuals sitting on the step under the awning waiting for the busses. Today's gift was a cup of coffee in the mail box. So, if you are driving down E. Park Ave. after this Friday. You will most likely see trash on the sidewalk, and drink cups on the window sills. Oh, and the mail box will be gone.

It was mentioned to me by my new landlord that I should post an update. Since I am not prone to social media it had not crossed my mind in the flurry of activity going on. This should also kill the rumor that I am partnering with someone else. So here we go. The build in of the new shop is going well. I will be completely out of the old location by the 1st. Here are a few pics.

To whom it may concern. It has been an eventful week. The last guitar and amp to be repaired at the current shop has been finished. All completed repairs will be leaving the shop on April 10th. Guitar C.P.R will be shut down for a few weeks during the move, build in, fiber optic, phone, licensing, change of address etc. are taken care of at the new location. This is literally the key to the future of Guitar C.P.R. Another chapter begins.....

Well, it is that time again. I find myself having to respond to the incorrect rumor mill AGAIN. I am NOT out of business, I AM still trying to get clear of the flood damages and all involved. This is a massive undertaking, and most have no clue as to the depths of this matter.
So keep talking and spreading wrong information. Those who do will look really stupid in the end.

08/26/2025

So I was informed of a rumor this morning. Apparently Someone has worked for/and trained by me without my knowledge. I can assure you without any doubt what so ever that I have never employed or trained anyone. Any information to that effect is completely fictional and purely BS. Just setting the record straight.

GREETINGS FROM GUITAR C.P.R.
Guitar, amp, speaker repair and seasonal Marina and Mud Bog.
Many are not aware of the Father's Day flooding in Fairmont. So here are a couple pics of the shop area. Fairmont was hit hard in general, there are condemed churches, houses and businesses in the area. People lost homes, vehicles, apartments, personal belongings the the list is endless. My heart goes out to them.
I consider myself fortunate. Yes, the shop took a hard hit. But after just under 80 hrs from Sunday evening through the following Friday most of the basic cleanup was finished. The cleanup and sanitation/resanitation and drying out continued for another couple weeks. Now the hard work has begun of salvaging, repairing or replacing damaged property.
At this point I want to thank my pal Carson for showing up shortly after I drained the street/shop and spending two hot, sweaty, humidity laden days removing stinky mud and other very nasty materials from the soaked building, and providing moral support.
Next I need to thank Tom Snyder for thoughtfully initiating a gofund me page to help financially. This alone either directly or indirectly led to an overwhelming show of support from friends, customers, and people some I have not seen for years. Since insurance does not cover one cent, this has helped take a bit of the sting out of it. Again proving that my friends, and loyal customers are some of the best people around. So thanks to everyone who donated, called, sent cards, letters, or stopped by offering support. Even those reposting or otherwise spreading the word helped greatly. BTW, yes, I kept a list and they will not be forgotten.
It will be a while before things are back to normal, and as of the first of the year I have been searching for a new location. As of yet nothing has fit the needs, and no concrete plans have been made. For the time being I will be focused on handling the many damages at hand, the fortunate unscathed surviors and relocation.
I will be back, this is not my first rodeo, and I do not give up easily.
Plus it has been made very apparent that I am still wanted around.

This will most likely be my last post of the year, so it will inclusive but brief as possible.
First Happy Holidays!
Second, I will be taking some time away from the shop to deal with a few issues of my own. I will be in and out as I can, so If you need to reach me leave a message. I deal so many spam and fake local # calls, I will not call anyone back not leaving a message.
Third, Facebook! Business media suite has been nothing but a problem. Nice upgrade Zuckerberg... Lagging loggins, not being able to access or open messages, for days or longer.... It will be eliminated by the first of the year. While on the subject, do not try to call my FB. It will not work. I use a laptop, not a phone. I check things in the morning and evening, the rest of the time it is off and miles from me.
Last, Here is the most recent video. See you later.

In this video we look at the journey of rebuilding, and correcting a mangled vintage 18 watt combo.
