i48’s Celebration of Achievements kicked off with a lush reception and plenty of networking with peers and exhibitors, followed by great remarks from new League Board Chair Christine Blake of Cardinal CU about the bright future, recognition of award winners, and celebration of Paul Mercer’s 20th year as League President. The Southwest Ohio Credit Union Alliance will be offering three (two $1,000 and one $500) scholarships to students in our area. To qualify for a scholarship award, an applicant must be at least a high school senior and pursuing a post-secondary education of any kind, including professional, vocational and academic studies not limited to colleges and universities. Details regarding the scholarship and its criteria can be found on the application. Completed applications must be postmarked on or before March 31, 2017 to be considered. Winners will be announced on May 1, 2017.

Please join us on Saturday, July 30 from 9:00AM-12:00PM to help Living Lands and Waters clean up the Ohio River in Cincinnati. This organization began in 1998 by Chad Pregracke. Chad basically grew up with the Mississippi River as his backyard and took the initiative, at the age of 17, to clean up the Mississippi River. Headquartered in East Moline, Illinois, Living Lands & Waters is a 501 (c)(3) environmental organization and has since grown to be the only “industrial strength” river cleanup organization like it in the world.
