It took over a year to get here but WE DID IT!!!

Everyone thinks being a Realtor means simply writing an offer after seeing one home or taking some pictures of a home and getting paid huge money 30 days later when MOST of the time especially if you're a great agent that couldn't be further from the truth!

James and his daughter Cristal were referrals 2 years ago when they called me to sell their home in Manassas because they wanted to move to Williamsburg. 1 year later (last year) they decided it wasn't a good fit and they wanted to move back to NOVA but in a very specific neighborhood. We started writing offers last spring and even though we were making very competitive offers, we were losing and competing with 15+ offers most of the time. We took a break over the holidays and decided to start back up this Spring...well we made our first offer of the year back in February and lost again on a home with 17 offers! That was super frustrating to all of us.

I got creative and sent buyer letters to homeowners and even called a couple of very old original owners since the 1960's hoping they would want to move out into an old folks home soon (sorry not sorry 🤣) but that only got me a 20 minute conversation with an 87 year old man who just ended up wanting someone to chat with so I did just that and made a new friend. He told me the only way he was leaving was when they carry his body out 💀 James called me and said just give up on the search, they didn't see them moving back up to NOVA as possible. I told them it's too early in the season to give up hope.

Fast forward one week later and we went to see another home which was a complete dump....we talked outside for a minute and then James points at this gorgeous, perfectly manicured home that didn't even hit the market yet and said "Vanessa, I want that home. Work your magic". I knew I had to pull out all the stops, beg, cry, sell one of my kids, etc to get them this home before it even went live.....The listing agent said she advised the sellers against accepting our offer early but we made them an offer they couldn't refuse and they ACCEPTED! The listing agent admitted she was shocked!

We were on a a very tight deadline to get their home sold in Williamsburg (things move slooooow down there) to make all of this happen and we did it! Now James and Cristal are proud home owners in Fairfax and back where they were meant to be!

I absolutely love a challenge and will not give up as long as my client's still have a goal to move! I am beyond thankful when I get a call from someone asking me to help them buy/sell or a referral from a past client.

Huge thanks to Rhoda Rahn for bringing the money to the table and getting us a Clear to Close extremely quickly! Thank you Robin at Community Title Network - Virginia for handling the settlement! It takes a strong team to be a successful Realtor and I'm thankful for mine!
