✅ REALITY: Certain life events may allow you to make eligible benefit changes outside of Open Enrollment. These are known as Qualifying Life Events (QLEs) and may include:
💍 Marriage
👶 Birth or adoption of a child
💔 Divorce
📋 Loss of other coverage

⏰ Remember, the timing matters! Qualifying Life Events have specific notification and enrollment deadlines, so be sure to contact your HR or benefits team promptly when a life change occurs.

💡 BENEFITS 101: PPO vs. HMO — What’s the Difference?

Choosing a health plan can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re faced with acronyms like PPO and HMO. Here’s a quick breakdown:

🔹 PPO | Preferred Provider Organization
A PPO typically gives members more flexibility when choosing healthcare providers. You generally don’t need to select a primary care physician or obtain a referral to see a specialist. PPO plans may also provide coverage for out-of-network care, although your costs are usually higher.

🔹 HMO | Health Maintenance Organization
An HMO generally focuses on care within a specific provider network. Members may need to select a primary care physician who helps coordinate their care, and referrals may be required to see specialists. Except for emergencies, out-of-network care is typically not covered.

So, which one is better?

There isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer! The right choice depends on factors such as your healthcare needs, preferred providers, budget, and how much flexibility you want.
