Summer is one of the busiest travel seasons of the year. It’s also one of the most unpredictable.

Over the past year, flight cancellations and long delays have become far more common. That’s where travel insurance comes in.

Travel insurance can help protect your trip when the unexpected happens. There are a number of issues that can derail travel plans, but coverage may help by:

🔹Reimbursing non-refundable expenses if a trip is canceled.
🔹Covering costs tied to flight delays like hotel stays, meals, and transportation.
🔹Helping to offset the cost of purchasing essentials if your baggage is lost or delayed.
🔹Providing coverage for medical emergencies while traveling.
🔹Offering emergency evacuation coverage, in certain cases.

No one wants their travel plans disrupted, so having coverage in place can make those situations easier to manage if they arise. And in the meantime, the right travel insurance lets you focus on enjoying your trip rather than worrying about delays and unexpected extra costs.

Have an upcoming summer trip and want to review your travel insurance options? Our team is here to help. Give us a call today!

A homeowners policy should not be something you buy once and forget. Rebuilding costs, liability exposure, and property risks can all change over time, and if your policy has not kept up, a loss can reveal coverage gaps at the worst possible moment.

Since June is National Homeownership Month, our team wanted to share a few homeowners insurance mistakes that can cause problems later down the line:

🏠 Outdated dwelling coverage - Rebuilding costs have increased significantly over the years. A home insured for $300,000 a few years ago may cost far more to rebuild today, leaving a potential coverage gap.

🏠 Choosing coverage based primarily on price - Focusing only on the lowest premium can lead to higher deductibles, lower limits, or key exclusions, which can create high out-of-pocket costs in the event of an emergency.

🏠 Ignoring flood or earthquake risk - Many homeowners assume these are covered under a standard policy, but these perils typically require separate coverage. Even in moderate- or low-risk areas, events such as heavy rainfall or ground movement can still cause costly damage.

🏠 Overlooking liability coverage limits - If someone is injured on the property or there’s accidental damage to others’ property, insufficient liability limits could leave the homeowner responsible for significant out-of-pocket costs.

A quick review can provide a clearer picture of how your policy would respond in a real claim and whether any limits, exclusions, or gaps need attention. Contact our office to schedule a policy review, and we can go over your terms and make sure your coverage still fits your home today.

When it comes to insurance, the lowest price does not always mean the best protection. Coverage details like limits, deductibles, exclusions, liability protection, and endorsements can make a major difference when it is time to file a claim.

Our team can help you compare more than just cost, so you understand how your auto, home, umbrella, or other personal insurance may respond when you need it most.

Working with independent agents, like our team, can give you a strategic advantage when shopping the market. We can help you compare policies and premiums so you can find the balance of coverage and cost that works for your situation.

Have questions about your current coverage? We are happy to help you review your options. Give us a call anytime.
