📣 Introducing our NEW Envirolok Video Case Study Series!
We are thrilled to launch a brand-new series showcasing how Envirolok’s permanent, vegetated solutions are tackling complex erosion and slope stabilization challenges across the globe. 🌱
To kick things off, we are taking you to the Glenorchy Trail in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. This slope had been subjected to the continuous scouring action of 16 Mile Creek and the continued erosion was threatening the integrity a beloved, heavily used public trail.
Here is how the Envirolok system brought the slope back to life:
The Scale: Over 8,000 Envirolok units were installed along a steep slope soaring more than 30 feet high.
The Engineering: Designed to conform to natural contours, the system was reinforced with threaded rock anchors to guarantee shear strength and lasting stability.
The Transformation: The slope was hydroseeded with native grasses and wildflowers, and planted with nearly 2,000 live dogwood and willow stakes.
The Result: A fully vegetated, permanently stabilized slope in just 3 months, with deep root systems adding even more structural support! 🌿💪
A huge thank you to our partners on this incredible 2014 project: Envirolok Canada, CSL Group, Marco Clay, the Town of Oakville, and Amec Foster Wheeler.
