Happy Medicare Monday! As you probably already know, the Medicare annual enrollment period is almost here! If you have Medicare, this will be the time period that you are able to add and make changes to your Medicare Advantage and Prescription drug plans (PDP). Here are some commonly asked questions:

Q: I have a Medicare Advantage plan or Prescription drug plan, what do I need to do?
A: If you have Medicare, you likely have either a Medicare advantage or Prescription Drug plan. You should always schedule or connect with your insurance agent for an annual review.

Q:Why do I need to review my plan?
A: Annual enrollment period is a time where your Medicare carrier will present plan changes for the upcoming year. By completing an annual review, you can make sure your doctors, hospitals, and pharmacies will continue to take your insurance, make sure your medication costs stay low, and make sure you are aware of your plan's new monthly premium.

Q: I am happy with my plan and don't want to change.
A: That's great! However, all plans except for Medicare supplements come out with new changes in October. I would strongly urge you to make sure you connect with an insurance agent. This way you at least know what your expenses and copays should be. There are a lot of big changes coming for 2024 plans, and our job is to ensure you stay happy with your plan before it's too late to make changes.

Q: Do you charge for annual reviews?
A: No, Allied Health Insurance and most agents do not charge for any service provided.
