𝙎𝙪𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙖𝙣, 𝙈𝙤. — Mid-Missouri Holding Company, Inc. the holding company for Sullivan Bank, announced today that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire First Independent Bancshares, Inc. and its subsidiary, First Independent Bank, a community bank headquartered in Aurora, Missouri, with approximately $147 million in assets and one banking location.
The acquisition represents another significant step in Sullivan Bank’s strategic growth and expansion throughout Missouri. Sullivan Bank, which currently has approximately $1.4 billion in assets and 11 banking locations, recently announced a separate agreement to acquire Bank of Crocker, a $144 million community bank with four locations in Crocker, St. Robert, Waynesville, and Richland, Missouri.
Upon completion of both transactions, Sullivan Bank is expected to have approximately $1.7 billion in assets and 16 banking locations, further strengthening its presence across Missouri and expanding its ability to serve individuals, families, and businesses throughout the region.
“We are very excited about the opportunity to welcome First Independent Bank’s customers and employees to the Sullivan Bank family,” said Michael Hoffman, CEO of Sullivan Bank. “First Independent Bank has a strong history of serving its customers and community, and its location in Aurora is an excellent geographic fit with our existing markets. We believe our organizations share the same fundamental values of relationship banking, local decision-making, and a genuine commitment to the communities we serve. This partnership will allow us to build upon those traditions while providing additional resources and opportunities for our customers and employees.”
Jack Muench, CEO of First Independent Bank, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership and the opportunities it will bring to the bank’s customers, employees, and community.
“We believe Sullivan Bank is an excellent fit for First Independent Bank and the customers, employees, and community we have proudly served for many years,” said Muench. “Sullivan Bank shares our commitment to community banking, personal relationships, and local decision-making. By joining Sullivan Bank, our customers will continue to receive the personal service they know and trust while benefiting from expanded lending capacity and a broader range of financial products and services. We are confident this partnership will preserve the values that have made First Independent Bank successful while positioning our customers, employees, and community for continued growth and success.”
The combination will provide First Independent Bank customers with access to greater lending capacity, enhanced banking technology, and an expanded offering of financial products and services. Equally important, Sullivan Bank intends to preserve and build upon the strong customer relationships, community involvement, and personalized service that have long been hallmarks of First Independent Bank.
The acquisitions of First Independent Bank and Bank of Crocker reflect Sullivan Bank’s ongoing strategy of partnering with established community banks that share its values and commitment to serving their local markets. Together, these transactions will broaden Sullivan Bank’s geographic reach, strengthen its deposit base, and provide additional opportunities for long-term growth.
“These acquisitions represent an exciting chapter in the continued growth of Sullivan Bank,” Hoffman added. “Our goal has never been simply to become a larger bank, but to become a stronger community bank with the resources and capabilities to better serve our customers. We recognize the importance of preserving the personal relationships and community connections that have made these banks successful. As we continue to grow, our commitment remains unchanged: to invest in our communities, support local businesses, and provide the personalized financial service our customers have come to expect.”
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals. Until the transaction is completed, First Independent Bank and Sullivan Bank will continue to operate independently. Additional information regarding the transaction and anticipated transition will be shared with customers, employees, and communities as it becomes available.
