PROPERTY TAXES!

It’s that time of year when I get the text or phone call of “Do I have to pay this property tax bill even though I pay it through my mortgage?"

Information copies of the annual secured property tax bills are mailed to the property owners that have an impound account. The mortgage company receives an original of the annual secured property tax bill.

The Supplemental tax bills are normally due in addition to any previous or subsequent annual or supplemental tax bills. Supplemental, additional, and escaped bills never replace the annual secured property tax bill. Only a corrected tax bill may replace the annual tax bill.

Supplemental tax bills are mailed directly to the homeowner and are NOT paid by your lender even if you have an escrow/impound account set up with them. If you have arranged for your tax payments to be paid through an impound account with your mortgage company, you will need to contact your lender regarding payment of the supplemental tax bill. The lender will NOT receive a copy. Remember if you have received an escrow “refund” or your servicer is modifying your payment contact your mortgage advisor to confirm!

We had a great turnout last Saturday as our community came together with Humboldt Realtors Association and PacOut Green Team for a cleanup event. The area of focus was behind Walmart in the wooded area which is known as a hot spot for garbage accumulation from the homeless camps. NEO Home Loans | Pacific Home Team will be participating in this this weeks PacOut Green Team cleanup which is being sponsored by the Humboldt Association of Realtors! They will be bringing raffles items and showing up in force to help cleanup!
We will meet at the Walmart parking lot, behind the mall. There will be a couple dumpsters there. We will be focusing on the trash along the waterfront trail and abandoned camps.
We will meet at 8:45 am to sign in. We will start the cleanup at 9:00 am and it will end at 10:00am. We meet for a group photo and raffle at 9:45 am.
