It's almost August 18th. Do you know what four questions you need to answer for your buyers so they feel confident choosing you to represent them? THERE"S STILL TIME TO REGISTER! Most Realtors I ask admit they aren't good at follow up and they aren't effective at serving their past clients. A lot has been made of the NAR settlement and how it will affect Buyer's agent commission. Overall, other than a new form you'll have to sign as a buyer, not much will likely change. Sellers still need to sell their home and most will just agree to pay the buyer's agent commission like we always have.

The only real issue has been with VA loans. VA guidelines have specifically prohibited buyers from paying a buyer's agent a fee. This would apply even though the seller agreed to pay the buyer's agent since the buyer is now required to sign an agreement with their agent. This left VA buyers out in the cold unless something changed.

Fortunately, it has. VA is now allowing buyers to sign the agreement. There are stipulations and currently this is considered temporary but it is a needed solution to this problem and the last major hurdle to implementation of the Settlement.
