Can you imagine getting a speeding ticket for driving just 8 mph? 😄

The first speeding ticket was issued in 1896 to a driver traveling 8 mph in a 2 mph zone. At the time, a police officer had to chase him down on a bicycle!

Safe to say traffic enforcement has changed a bit since then.

Update on Buying the Building, 6-3-26:
Well, it's officially been a full long month since we've had both "The Tip Box" and GoFundMe going. We just passed $60,000 raised, including $1500+ for the signed First of "Sometimes a Great Notion." We will do our best to be as big as it is in us to be.

Especially satisfying, you donated $7495 this past weekend toward the matching grant; so what you moved through "The Tip Box" was $14,990 in 4 days.

Accepting such a gift is a responsibility. And a joy. Once we've bought the building, we're going to use that "Tip Box" for a wealth of good, small causes. Gonna have to get stronger hinges on the back door:-)
