Completing a Driver’s Education Course is time consuming and costly so I’m often asked if it’s worth the commitment of time and money? I believe for most, it truly is. The premium savings is helpful but not dramatically compelling for many. The real reason to make Driver’s Ed happen lies in the confidence it builds in your inexperienced operator. It’s nice to have someone else besides a close relative provide critical driving feedback and reinforce the skills parents try to instill. In my nearly 25 years working with parents and newly licensed drivers the biggest benefit is the better driving experience translating to less early accidents as a newly licensed driver. An early at fault accident or two can dramatically change the trajectory of insurance premiums and future insurance eligibility.
Throw in being able to avoid a DMV driving Exam and for many new drivers and parents the choice is easy.
