Tax season is here upon us and your receipts are in a plastic bag… or shoe box… or crammed into a desk drawer. Your bank accounts haven’t been reconciled in months. A local chiropractic had received a notice from the IRS that he owed $4000 for 2014 taxes due to income that was claimed on another person’s tax return, however the 1099 had the doctor’s social security number on it. We were able to submit our findings to the IRS for reconsideration, and the IRS agreed with our position and the IRS forgave the tax and penalties and the good doctor ended up owing $0.

A gentleman came to us from San Pasqual with an IRS notice stating that he owed $44,000 for past due taxes, penalties, and interest. We reviewed his IRS notice and tax returns. We discovered that the W-2 he received had an incorrect social security number. We were able to resolve the issue and reduce the amount owed to $0. If you have received a tax notice, please bring it on in and we take a look at it and see if we can help resolve any tax issues you may have.

Today was a tax victory! Our client Ray was sent an IRS notice stating that he owed $4109. We we're able to amend his return and now he owes nothing! I think that equals to a pretty good day.
