October 16th is National Dictionary Day, and we're celebrating the wonderful, weird, and sometimes completely unnecessary words in the English language!

We all have that one word we just love using. Maybe it's because of what it means, how it sounds, or because it makes us feel a little smarter when we say it.

You have homeowners insurance, so if water backs up through a drain or sewer, you’re covered… right?

Not necessarily!

Water backup coverage is often something that needs to be specifically added to your homeowners policy. Without it, damage caused by water backing up through a sewer, drain, or sump may not be covered.

And trust me… finding out AFTER there’s water all over your house is not the time you want to learn that.

Your homeowners policy may provide limited—or sometimes no—coverage for certain business equipment, inventory, liability, or other business-related losses.

That laptop, photography equipment, inventory in the garage, or even a client visiting your home could create coverage needs you weren’t expecting.
