We are deeply saddened to share the passing of our beloved Vice-President, Ronald Runstedler, on April 4, 2026.

With over 44 years in the financial services industry, Ron dedicated his life to helping generations of families achieve their financial and legacy goals. From his early years with John Hancock to his role at Runstedler Life & Retirement, he was known for his steady guidance, integrity, and belief in a conservative approach to financial planning.

A lifelong Erie native, Ron was a proud graduate of Cathedral Prep and an active member of St. George Church, where he coached football and wrestling and served as athletic director. He found joy in fishing, football, and most of all, spending time with his beloved grandchildren.

Above all, Ron was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Our hearts are with his wife, Susan, his children Leah and Ross (Maggie), and his grandchildren, Otto and Ada, along with all who knew and loved him.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Big congratulations to Alex Harper, our Advisor Support Specialist, on passing his Life, Health, and Accident exam!

This is a huge accomplishment and a testament to Alex’s dedication to growing his knowledge and better serving our clients. With this achievement, he’s able to provide even greater support to our advisors and add more value to the overall client experience.

Advisor Spotlight: Ross Runstedler

Ross builds both his personal and professional life around trust, integrity, and community. As a third-generation financial professional in Erie, he proudly continues the legacy started by his grandfather, Ivan, and carried forward by his father, Ron, inspired by his family’s lasting impact helping clients navigate important financial decisions.

Ross holds a Series 65 Securities License, along with life, health, and annuity certifications, and is a Certified Social Security Claiming Strategist (CSSCS). He has also been featured by MoneyGeek and Erie News Now.

Ross lives in Erie with his wife Maggie, a local realtor and office administrator at Runstedler Life & Retirement, and their two children, Otto and Ada. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, landscaping, and barbecuing.

Meet Matt Passalinqua! Matt recently joined Runstedler Life & Retirement last month, bringing over 8 years of experience in Medicare and Health Insurance. He’s passionate about helping clients feel confident in their coverage.

When he’s not working with clients, you’ll find Matt running his local pizza shop, jamming with his band, or out on the golf course. At home, family is everything—he’s been happily married for 14 years, is a proud dad to a baseball-loving 10-year-old, and shares life with two great dogs.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting a hands-on Long Term Care workshop with residents of LECOM Parkside Corry. Our Financial Advisor, Ross Runstedler, and Insurance Specialist, Tim Franks, shared education and actionable strategies that seniors can incorporate into their retirement plans to better prepare for future long-term care costs.

We truly enjoyed our time together and look forward to continuing our partnership with LECOM in the future.
