Scams venture beyond our devices and it’s important to be alert, even when completing day to day tasks. One way this happens is through skimming: the illegal installation of devices on gas pumps and point-of-sale terminals. These devices take consumers’ card information and use it for their own gain.

Next time you are at the gas pump or grocery store, take a close look at the card machine. If something feels off, take a step back and let someone know. It may just be what stops your information from ending up in the wrong hands.
