I have served the Wiregrass and Fort Rucker area, since 2014 as a financial advisor helping clients specializing in income in retirement and focusing on helping clients prepare for the unexpected. I am from Newport, RI, and I'm married to the former Ashley W**d of Dothan, AL, since 2007. We have one daughter, and we live in Enterprise, AL. Prior to my financial career, I was commissioned as an Aviation Branch Officer in the Army at Bryant University with a Bachelor's in Business Management. As an Aviation Officer, I served in various assignments throughout my Army Career; some of my most notable assignments were a deployment in Afghanistan with the 101st Airborne, and Company Commander at Fort Rucker, AL. While in command, I assisted many of my Soldiers with their finances, and enjoyed helping them succeed financially. I transitioned to the Reserve where I currently am serving as an Aviation officer and began my career as a Financial Advisor, helping my community plan for the future and retire comfortably. Due to the inclement weather expected Saturday, Dec. 2, the Whoville Celebration 2023 in Downtown Enterprise will be postponed to Dec. 9. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“After consulting with city leadership, the Emergency Management Association, vendors and volunteers, the committee made the decision to postpone the annual Whoville Celebration to the planned rain date,” Main Street Executive Director Mariah Montgomery said. “We want to thank everyone for their support of this change. Your patience and Wholiday spirit could make even the Grinch’s heart grow.”

The ticketed attractions of Elf Driving School and the Winter Wonderland Maze will no longer be available due to the date change. However, free inflatables and train rides will still be offered. Contests will still continue, with prizes awarded for various categories.

The Fed just lowered rates by another 25 basis points— even without access to key government data. Here's what to know:

The fed funds rate is now between 3.75% & 4.0%:
While a lack of government data complicated the Fed’s job, some investors saw it coming. What drove the decision?

September data set the tone:
The job market was already cooling, and a delayed CPI (consumer price index) report showed inflation at 3%. This motivated policymakers to bring rates down closer to a neutral level.

Could rates fall again this year?
Maybe. September’s momentum helped drive this cut, but without fresh data coming in, it’s hard to feel confident about which direction the Fed will go in December.

What could this mean for you?
• Borrowers: May see lower rates on credit cards, adjustable-rate mortgages, and home equity lines of credit (HELOCs)
• Savers & investors: Could see falling yields on money market accounts, short-term Treasurys, and CDs.
