‼️ ATTENTION RESIDENTS ‼️

Due to the extreme heat forecast for Thursday 6/11 & Friday 6/12, Republic Services will begin trash collection earlier than usual on both days. Residents are asked to place their trash, yard waste and recycling containers curbside tonight to ensure collection.

Republic Services is adjusting its schedule to protect the safety of its employees and plans to complete collections by early afternoon before the highest temperatures occur.

Through their partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, Delmarva Power customers can request a free tree to plant at their home. Up to 700 trees are available on a first-come, first-served basis, including native species such as Bald Cypress, River Birch, Eastern Redbud, Red Maple, and Flowering Dogwood.

All trees in will be delivered directly to customers homes. Please see the link to the DPL tree reservation portal below.

The Town of Elsmere is asking for the public’s help in keeping our parks clean and enjoyable for everyone. Recently, we have seen an increase in littering throughout our parks and recreational areas. This behavior not only impacts the beauty of our community, but also creates safety concerns and additional maintenance costs for the Town.

We all share responsibility for taking care of our public spaces. Please dispose of trash properly, use provided receptacles, and encourage others to do the same. Let’s work together to keep Elsmere’s parks clean, safe, and welcoming for families, children, and visitors.

If you see ongoing issues or misuse of park property, please report it to Town offices or the appropriate authorities.

☀️🍍 Scoop Up Some Summer Support at Our Pop-Up Food Pantry! 🍦☀️

The Town of Elsmere and the Food Bank of Delaware are partnering once again to help support local families with a Pop-Up Food Pantry this June!

Location: Town Hall – 11 Poplar Ave, Elsmere, DE 19805
Time: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Date: Tuesday, June 16th, 2026

Whether you’re in need of assistance or know someone who may benefit, we encourage you to stop by.

👉 Please remember to bring your ID or proof of Delaware residency. Food will be distributed until 11:00 AM or while supplies last.

‼️ Additional pantry dates will be announced as we receive them from the Food Bank of Delaware!
