'Twas the night before flipping, in a run-down abode,
Not a buyer in sight on the foreclosure road.
The tools were all laid out with precision and care,
In hopes that a transformation soon would be there.
The distressed property, a sight to behold,
With visions of renovations and stories untold.
And my partner in a hard hat, and I in my cap,
Had just settled in for a long night's rehab.
When out on the lawn, there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the blueprint to see what was the matter.
Away to the window, I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters, threw up the sash.
The moon on the debris of the soon-to-be flip,
Gave the lustre of progress to the rundown ship.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a contractor's truck, with skilled workers near.
With a seasoned foreman, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment, this flip would be slick.
More rapid than eagles, the crew they came,
And I whistled and shouted and called them by name.
"Now, Demolition! Now, Foundation Repair!
On, Fresh Paint! On, Granite Countertop to bear!
To the top of the roof, to the end of the hall!
Now flip away, flip away, flip away all!"
As drywall dust settles before the new paint,
When it meets with a hammer, a satisfying quaint.
So up to the rooftop, the workers they flew,
With a truck full of materials and expertise too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof,
The pounding and drilling, the sounds of the truth.
As I drew in my head and was turning around,
Down the chimney, the potential buyers came with a bound.
They were dressed in excitement, from their heads to their feet,
And their eyes were all gleaming with visions so sweet.
A bundle of cash they had flung on their backs,
And they looked like savvy investors, ready to relax.
Their eyes—how they twinkled! Their smiles, how merry!
Their dreams of a flip, they were more than ready to carry.
The transformation was swift, like a well-oiled machine,
And I smiled when I saw it, a successful flip scene.
A wink of my eye and a nod of my head,
Soon gave them to know there was nothing to dread.
I spoke not a word, but went straight to my task,
Ensuring the finishes were up to their ask.
And laying my finger aside of my nose,
And giving a nod, to the door I arose.
They sprang to the entrance, to their team gave a whistle,
And away they all went, to realize the profit's bristle.
But I heard them exclaim, as they drove out of sight,
"Happy flipping to all, and to all a goodnight!"
