3 things Surry County parents get wrong about adding a teen driver 👇

Graduation's a few weeks out. If you're about to put a 16–18 year old on your auto policy, read this before you call your carrier.

1. "Just adding them" can jump your premium 60–110%. Some carriers are way softer on teens than others — we shop all 9.

2. The good-student discount is real (B average, transcript required). A lot of folks never claim it. Most carriers won't ask.

3. If they're heading to college 100+ miles away and not taking the car — there's a "distant student" credit. National chains forget this one constantly.
