After my recent surgery, I was given crutches and a knee scooter. The knee scooter worked great on smooth surfaces, but rough pavement and uneven sidewalks quickly exposed its limitations. Instead of just accepting it, I made an adjustment that better fit my needs.
It reminded me of retirement planning.
A 401(k) is a great tool while you’re building wealth, but when you change jobs or retirement is just a few years away, the strategy that got you there may not be the best one for what’s next.
