Through all these stages, I have seen both challenges and rewards. One of the most rewarding stages for me has been working for Edward Jones. The most challenging stage recently has been acquiring the Chartered Financial Consultant® credential and getting prepared to earn the Certified Financial Planner® credential. These credentials will help me understand my clients on a deeper level, which will
then help me plan for the different life stages they encounter. I grew up as a daughter of a small business owner in a little town in Eastern New Mexico. My parents owned and operated the Sears catalog store for most of my childhood. My first "job" was to place the phone number labels on the catalogs that we gave out to our customers. I think I was paid 25 cents an hour, and I worked hard for every cent of that money! As the years passed, I learned all that I could about the operations and mindset of a business owner. One of my favorite things to do was complete the cash reports. I love working with money and numbers, so this seemed to just be natural for me. My parents sold the catalog store while I was in high school, but I carry with me to this day the many, many valuable lessons of the family-run business. After high school, I worked at a bank. First, I was in the accounting department, where most of our job consisted of re-filing the signature cards after using them for various reasons. Second, I worked for a few months in the proof department where we would manually enter all the day's credits and debits. Lastly, I worked as a teller in the lobby as well as drive through and the commercial window. Again, learning and keeping with me many valuable lessons of working with money and with the public. Through other stages in my life, I have been in education and the health care field. These experiences have only enriched my life and my ability to understand people and develop meaningful relationships with others. I believe in every stage of life, we become better-equipped for the next one, which makes life so rewarding. As I develop more meaningful relationships with my clients, I strive to see each of them succeed in every way. I am passionate about people and their successes in every stage of life. Whether it is starting a new family, planning for education or retirement, or travelling the world – it is my goal to help clients make each stage of life as rewarding as possible. My husband, Charlie, and I live locally in Sierra County. We are dog parents in addition to three grown children and eight grandchildren. We like to cook, craft, and be outside as much as possible.
