In August of 2013 Police Officer First Class Jason Schneider was shot and killed while serving a search warrant in Baltimore County. Shortly after, members of the agency decided to host a golf outing to celebrate Jason's life and raise money for his young family. The event was very successful and raised money for his wife and children. From that event The Blue Valor Foundation was founded and it'

s our mission to raise funds to provide financial relief to Maryland families who have lost a Law Enforcement Officer in the line of duty. The Blue Valor Foundation is a non-profit Maryland corporation, with current 501 C3 status with the IRS. To donate please visit the site below

Today the Blue Valor Foundation honored the memory of Baltimore County Police Officer Jason Schneider (EOW 8/28/2013) and United States Army Chief Warrant Officer Andrew Kraus (9/17/2025), by making a meaningful donation to Folds of Honor. The donation, accepted on behalf of Folds of Honor by Allen Wronowski, will be used to provide a scholarship in their memory to a deserving student. This donation was made possible by contributions from Mission BBQ, loyal followers and event participants. Please be sure to like our FB page for updates on coming events!

The final Officer Jason Schneider Memorial "Salute to a Hero" Golf Tournament was held yesterday at Hillendale Country Club. This was the 10th Annual event, postponed twice in 2023 due to severe weather. Everyone in attendance had a wonderful time as we remembered and honored the legacy and life of our fallen hero, son, husband, father, and brother, Jason Schneider. Although this is the final golf tournament in his honor, let us never forget Jason and all that he embodied as a man and public servant.
This event has enjoyed success over the years as a result of caring individuals behind the scenes. We would like to thank Chuck and Karen Schneider for their support and guidance every step of the way. Ericka Schneider Barnes and a host of volunteers, including Vicki Goodson, who assisted with many events over the years. Howard Zieden and John Copsey as early foundation co-founders and board members.Terry Arenson for his assistance with his local business connections, which helped us gain an early foothold in our fundraising efforts. Matt Aversa, Marty Copsey, Ted Bosse, Sabrina Black and Chuck Schneider for serving as board members. The Baltimore County Police Department Honor Guard and Aviation Unit. Officer Jen Peach for her beautiful voice, singing the national anthem. All the folks at Mission BBQ who have helped throughout the years. And last but not least, our families. Without the support of our loved ones, this effort to honor Jason would have been much more difficult. Thank you to each and every one of you. God bless.

Over the past 10 years, the Blue Valor Foundation has experienced the utmost privilege of being associated with some of the finest individuals in the local Baltimore community, including Mr. Brooks Robinson. His attendance at foundation events was always a highlight and looked forward to by everyone. Gracious, patient, and always willing to listen and share a story, Brooks demonstrated the highest example of character and integrity. He will surely be missed by everyone who knew him or even just those who only remember his play on the "hot corner" at 33rd St. The Blue Valor Foundation wishes to express our most heartfelt condolences to Brooks' family. Surely, if there is a Field of Dreams in Heaven, #5 is on the "hot corner" with his trusty Rawlings on, waiting to snag another grounder. God bless you, Brooks.
