This is about pool safety. with summer coming to an end, pool days are becoming numbered but it's important that we don't let the rules fly out the door.

Tips to keep your kids safe by the pool:
- Never leave children unsupervised around the water, even if they know how to swim.
- Enclose the pool on all sides with a self-locking, self closing fence with vertical bars. Openings in the fence should be no more than four inches wide.
- Enroll young children in a water safety course, so if anything should happen they know how to keep themselves afloat.

In the past 4 days the words failed us. On August 3, 2019, our city experienced a tragedy which will affect all of us forever. Our hearts are truly broken by this senseless violence, and we join with others across our community, state, and country in offering prayers and condolences to the victims and their families.

Our community is and has always been rooted in understanding, solidarity and support for one another. We are El Paso Strong.

This is all about Car seat safety.

Tips to play it safe with kids in the car:
- Use the appropriate car seat for every trip, even when you are just going down the street. The car seat should be the appropriate fit for your child, as well as your car.
- Talk to your kids about the dangers of playing around vehicles and monitor children closely when vehicles are present.
- When in doubt have your car seat installation checked at a certified center. www.nhtsa.gov can help find a location near you that is certified to check the installation of car seats.

Welcome back for this weeks . Checking your tires is crucial in the summer. Long road trips with humongous loads and high temperatures can stress your tires to the max. And, obviously, if the tires go, you go! Besides, no one likes to force a mother-in-law into changing a tire on the side of the road. So let's talk tips.

Tips for checking your tires:
- Make sure tires are inflated to the manufacturer's recommended air pressure, which typically can be found in your owner's manual or on the inside of the car door.
- Place a penny head down in the groove between the treads. if you can see the top of Lincoln's head, your tire probably needs to be replaced.
