Great news! As of August 10, 2024, the VA now allows buyers with VA home loans to pay for professional real estate representation. The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) went to bat for this, and guess what? We won! This change is a huge victory, giving veterans more options and leveling the playing field in competitive markets. It’s about time, right?

Right now, this is a temporary policy, but we’re fighting to make it permanent. NAR is on the frontlines advocating for this change to stick around for good. NAR has been backing the VA Home Loan Guaranty program for years, helping more than 24 million veterans secure homes. They’re pushing for changes like easier appraisal requirements and allowing veterans to pass on unused benefits to their families.
