Medicare premiums and deductibles typically increase annually. Part B premiums are expected to rise 11.6% in 2026, nearly double the six percent jump in 2025, according to the 2025 Social Security and Medicare Trustees Report (page 204). The report projects a $206.50 monthly premium for next year, up $21.50 or 11.6% from 2025 and the largest Part B increase in dollar terms since 2022, when premiums rose by $21.60.

🕒 Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) Is Almost Here – What You Need to Know

The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) is right around the corner, and it’s one of the most important times of the year for anyone enrolled in Medicare.

🗓️ Dates to Remember:
October 15 – December 7, 2025

During this time, you can:

✅ Review your current Medicare Advantage or Part D (prescription drug) plan
✅ Switch to a different Medicare Advantage or drug plan
✅ Drop a plan and return to Original Medicare
✅ Join a new plan if your needs or medications have changed

🚫Why You Shouldn’t Skip AEP

Even if you’re happy with your current coverage, plans can change every year—including premiums, co-pays, drug coverage, and provider networks. What worked well last year might not be the best fit for you next year.

📋 Let’s make sure you’re not overpaying or under-covered.

How I Can Help❓

As a licensed independent Medicare broker, I work with many of the top carriers—including UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Humana, and more. That means I can shop around on your behalf, at no cost to you, to find the plan that best fits your health and financial needs.

🗣️ Let’s Talk!

If you or someone you know is turning 65 soon, or already on Medicare, now is the perfect time to schedule your free consultation. Let’s make sure you go into 2026 with the right coverage and peace of mind.

Republicans are proposing cuts to Medicaid as part of President Donald Trump's spending bill. Some Americans are worried the cuts will cause them to lose their coverage.

🗣️🗣️Something that I get told often when discussing Life insurance with people is, “Well I don’t need life insurance because I have it through my employer.”

🗣️🗣️Another thing I encounter often is people (often folks whom are in thier late 50s early 60s) that are 🤬upset because they retired and didn’t get to keep their life Insurance that they figured was entitled to them for life.

🤬Then they get more upset because they find out how expensive 💸💸 it is to purchase it at their age. The younger, you are the cheaper it is, the older you get the more expensive it becomes...

🔵Private life insurance stays with you no matter where you work.
🔴Employer life insurance usually ends if you leave the job, quit, retire, or get laid off. SOMETIMES you can retain it BUT its going to cost A LOT of 💰.

🔵Private policies let you choose the exact amount of coverage you need.
🔴Employer plans often offer a standard, limited amount (like 1–2× your salary), which might not cover your family’s full needs.

🔵Private insurance can lock in your premium rates while you’re young and healthy.
🔴Employer plans might change or disappear if the company changes benefits or faces financial troubles.

🔵If you buy private life insurance when you’re healthy, you can secure lower rates for life.
🔴Relying on employer insurance means you risk losing coverage later when you might be older or have developed health problems (making new coverage more expensive or unavailable).

🔵With private insurance, you decide on policy types (term, whole life, etc.) and beneficiaries.
🔴Employer plans are more rigid and might not offer advanced features like cash value accumulation or riders.

🔴 I had the pleasure of assisting a client of mine today switch plans to due to her change in Medicaid status.

⚪️ Medicaid (State funded Health benefits) has different levels of assistance based on Income and Resources, in this case my client changed from QMB to MC-SLMB, and has a great plan for individuals receiving this level of Medicaid. The dental coverage alone gives a 💲3500.00 spending allowance for dental care.

🔵 Medicaid (the State of Texas) also covers her Part 🅱️ premium every month which is 💲185.00 in 2025.

One misconception about Life Insurance is that it's only available after you're no longer around, but that's not true when it comes to a Whole Life Insurance policy. The money becomes available for certain life changing events as detailed in the picture below.

A life insurance living benefits rider offers several important advantages that can provide financial support while you're still alive. Here are some key benefits:

1. 💰💰Access to Funds: Living benefits allow you to access a portion of your death benefit if you are diagnosed with a terminal illness, chronic illness, or critical illness. This can help cover medical expenses or other costs during a challenging time.

2. 💪🏼 Financial Flexibility: Having access to these benefits can provide crucial financial support when you need it the most, allowing you to focus on recovery rather than worrying about finances.

3. ☮️Peace of Mind: Knowing that you have a safety net in place can bring peace of mind, allowing you to enjoy your life with less worry about the future.

4. 🚫No Impact on Death Benefit: Utilizing the living benefits typically does not reduce the amount of the death benefit for your beneficiaries, or it may only reduce it minimally, depending on the policy.

5. 👽 Customizable Options: Many insurers offer different types of living benefits riders that can be tailored to fit your specific needs and circumstances.

6. 💸 Potential Tax Advantages: In many cases, the funds received from living benefits may be tax-free, which can provide an additional financial advantage.

Oz has not said yet whether he would oppose such cuts to the government-funded program, instead offering a vision of promoting healthier lifestyles, integrating artificial intelligence and telehealth into the system, and rethinking rural health care delivery.

During a hearing last month, he told senators that he did favor work requirements for Medicaid recipients, but paperwork shouldn’t be used to reaffirm that they are working or to block people from staying enrolled.

✅ Last night I was able to assist another client over the phone, she lives in San Antonio, Texas. This client secured herself a Whole Life Policy from Mutual of Omaha with a face value of 💸 85 k for $41.00 a month at the age of 40 years old with instant approval over the phone❗️

Now her 2️⃣ kids will have a bit more security in the future as they were named as beneficiaries on the policy. 💵

She also has Living Benefits from the policy in case she suffers from any terminal illnesses in the near future and💰cash value being accumulated via the policy, the policy will give her lifetime coverage at a 🔐 locked in rate. ✅

📍Yesterday I had the pleasure of assisting another community member with her Health Insurance needs via a plan with Humana.
The client has Diabetes so I aligned her with a plan called Humana Chronic Special Needs, which specifically caters to folks who have diabetes.
It’s also designed to help people who suffer from certain Heart conditions, this plan will help pay for her medications more than a regular plan and offers other percs such as 1500.00 in Dental allowance, $0.00 co pay to see the Dentist for exams , $0.00 co pay to see her primary and $150 allowance for bifocals or contact lenses and $0.00 co pay for seeing an optometrist. She’s also receiving a $50.00 spending allowance every month for needs such as groceries and over the counter medications. 🙏🏼

💸💸The standard monthly premium for Medicare Part B — the part of Medicare that covers doctor’s visits, routine cancer screenings, home health care and other outpatient services — will be $185 for 2025, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced Nov. 8. This is an increase of $10.30 from 2024 and is similar to the nearly $10 monthly premium hike seen in 2024, from 2023.👎🏻
