We are skipping town for a few days before Medicare Annual Enrollment begins and traveling with the El Dorado Senior Center to Branson! Having so much fun with 50 friends. Don’t worry, we will be back in the office for annual enrollment soon and be refreshed and ready to help you with your 2027 plan!

Two calls today from people who were upset that their health plan “denied” basic lab services. But were they really denied? We jumped to action to solve the problem.

First call: Medical provider told my client that she did not have coverage on the date of service, even though she has been in the same plan since 2023. Turns out they entered the wrong policy number and it was denied by insurance because that policy number did not exist.

Second call: My client received a bill from medical provider saying that labs were declined. Also received notice from insurance carrier a week later that patient responsibility was $0 for the labs. She didn’t know which one to believe. Medical provider first sent the claim to the wrong payer ID address. Automatically sent bill to the client when they didn’t get paid, then realized error and sent it in correctly but did not notify patient. Insurance company then sent notification to my client that it had been paid.

A denial notice doesn’t always mean it’s denied. This is why our clients call our office when they get these notices. We will make the calls and figure it out for them to the best of our abilities.

Agency Christmas Party last night, we started it off a little different this year. We all went shopping for 14 Salvation Army Angel tree children and ended with a pizza party and fun games. We have been blessed this year and are thankful for our amazing staff of agents and the clients who trust us with their insurance needs.
