"Warsh Deserves Time"
Monday Morning OUTLOOK

"In other words, as Chair of the Fed, Kevin Warsh is
presiding over a more complicated scenario than any Chair since
Paul Volcker. It’s only right to give him time. We think he is
moving in the right direction."

"Warsh Has the Fed Right Where He Wants It"
Monday Morning Outlook

"Put it all together and we think Warsh’s goal is to find a
way to hold off the hawks on the Fed (what we will call the
Powell faction) and avoid rate hikes altogether. For now, he
appears to be winning in this endeavor and it certainly looks like
he has both the arguments and the support to play the long game
and remain patient. He has the Fed right where he wants it."

"Alan Greenspan, RIP"
Monday Morning OUTLOOK

"Alan Greenspan passed away last week at the ripe old age
of 100. Other than presidents, few Americans have wielded as
much power in the arena of economic policy as Greenspan did
during his roughly eighteen years and five months at the helm of
the Federal Reserve."

Are Rate Hikes on the Way?
Monday Morning OUTLOOK

"The job market was surprisingly strong in May with nonfarm payrolls growing 172,000, beating even the strongest
forecasts for the month. As a result, the futures market is now
pricing in a quarter-point rate hike later this year and more likely
than not another quarter point rate hike sometime in 2027."

"Not So Bad"
Monday Morning OUTLOOK

"In terms of the official inflation reports, the popular
narrative has a point. Over time, inflation is a monetary
phenomenon, but in the very short term an oil price spike can
change measured inflation because consumers (and businesses)
dip into savings temporarily to spend more and the basket of
goods and services used to measure inflation doesn’t
immediately change."
