This past week, I was honored to have represented the CA farmer as part of RCIS’s agents’ DC Fly-In, advocating for a stronger crop insurance program in the upcoming Farm Bill negotiations.

I was selected as one of a small group of agents from across the country, representing the West Coast region. My focus was on promoting and strengthening specialty crop insurance, educating Members of Congress and their staffers on how vital these programs are for growers who rely on them.

I also had the privilege of visiting with RMA Administrator Pat Swanson and Associate Administrator Ken Selzer, and it was an honor to meet a member of the Executive Office of the President (EOP) team during our time in DC.

Proud to have had a seat at the table for this event, advocating on behalf of California’s specialty crop growers.

📍 APRIL — RCIS National Agent Conference, Scottsdale, AZ
This April, Robert and Bobby attended the Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) National Agent Conference. It was a pleasure to spend time with Dalynn Hoch, Head of RCIS, and a special honor to meet Sierra Signorelli, the newly appointed CEO of Zurich North America. We were also fortunate to spend time with Pat Swanson, Administrator of RMA, discussing topics important to our growers. RCIS continues to keep system improvements for agents and growers at the forefront of its plans. 🤝

📍 MAY — C**A Spring Meeting, Frisco, TX

🍷 COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT — SLO Wine Mixer
Earlier this month, Bella attended the San Luis Obispo (SLO) Wine Mixer, hosted by Ethan Bronson, Austin Bronson, Jackson Elrod, and Lucas Childers, and sponsored by Vintage. The event drew a strong turnout and is already being talked about as one of the season’s standout gatherings — organized by four young professionals united by a shared goal: introducing Gen Z to wine culture. 🥂

Farmers operate in one of the most volatile industries in the economy. They face weather extremes, global market shifts, and rising production costs, often all in the same season.

For most farmers, federal crop insurance serves as the only structured, dependable safety net available when disaster strikes.

It doesn't eliminate risk, but it does provide stability.

That stability helps farms remain operational, protects rural economies, and supports the broader food system Americans rely on every day.

Great couple of days on the road this week. Today Bobby and I spent the day working in Napa and Sonoma — Earlier this week, Liz, Bella, and I had a great day working all over Monterey County as well. Days like these remind me how fortunate I am to work with family, build relationships, and do what I enjoy every day. There’s something special about being able to work with family while serving great people and enjoying some of California’s most beautiful places. Blessed and thankful.

Last week, Bobby Aviña of Vintage Crop Insurance had the privilege of joining the California Association of Winegrape Growers (CAWG) in Sacramento for the 2026 Advocacy Day. Throughout the day, the group met with senators, assemblymembers, and legislative staffers to discuss three key pieces of legislation impacting the wine industry: AB-1585, SB-921, and SB-917. Bobby is grateful for the opportunity to advocate for our farmers, who are the backbone of this country. We also extend our sincere gratitude to CAWG for their continued leadership and support of California’s winegrape growers. We look forward to continuing these important conversations and supporting the future of California agriculture.

House and Senate Agriculture Committee Chairmen Endorse Tom Sell for Texas 19 on National Agriculture Day

House Agriculture Committee Chairman, Congressman Glenn “GT” Thompson (R-PA), and Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman, Senator John Boozman (R-AR) today announced their strong support and endorsements for Tom Sell to serve as the next Congressman for Texas’ 19th District.

Chairman Thompson stated, "I’m proud to endorse Tom Sell for Texas’ 19th District. As an America First Conservative and proud 5th generation West Texan, Tom has been a true champion for America’s farmers and ranchers his entire career. I’m proud to endorse Tom Sell because I know he will bring that same West Texas grit, know-how, and expertise to Congress as we work to support our farmers and ranchers, grow our energy sector, secure the border, lower costs, and make America truly great again.”

Chairman Boozman stated, “On National Ag Day, I’m proud to support my friend Tom Sell for Congress. Tom is a rock-solid conservative who will stand up for West Texas and be a champion for our farmers and ranchers. We need his voice and common sense values in Washington.”

In response to the Chairmen’s endorsements, Tom Sell stated, “Hats off on this National Ag Day to the hardworking men and women across West Texas and this entire nation who keep our country, and the world, fed, fueled, and clothed. I’m so honored to have the support of Chairman Thompson and Chairman Boozman - two of the strongest conservative leaders I know fighting for agriculture day in and day out. I’m proud to have fought for West Texas farm and ranch families my entire career, and I’m grateful to have the support of so many farmers, ranchers, and grassroots agriculture organizations across the 19th District. I am ready to continue fighting for you in Washington. We pray for a bountiful ‘26 crop. God bless our farmers! God bless America!”
