Are you hosting friends and family for cookouts this fall? Here are a few tips to stay safe.
- Give your grill some space. Keep it away from your home, deck railings, and anything that could catch fire.
- Keep an extinguisher nearby, and make sure you know where it is before you start cooking.
- Never leave the grill unattended, especially when kids or pets are running around.
- Watch the walkways. As the days get shorter, keep outdoor areas well lit and free of cords, toys, and other trip hazards.
- Know what your policy covers. Accidents happen, so it's a good time to make sure your homeowners coverage is up to date.
Enjoy the food, the football, and the people around your table, and have a safe fall.
