One of California’s largest insurers said Monday that about 80,000 individual policy holders whose plans were set to expire Dec. 31 can keep them for three more months as part of an agreement with state insurance officials.

Alameda Alliance for Health Suspended From Insurance Exchange
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Covered California™ announced today that one of its 12 health plans, Alameda Alliance for Health, will be removed from the choice of exchange products until further notice, because it has not been approved by the state to sell health coverage in the commercial market.

Happy Friday!
News regarding the Health insurance exchange marketplace. This opens for enrollment on October 1st for coverage beginning Jan 1 of 2014. Don't wait until the last minute if you want to look into getting individual coverage because after April 1st you will have to wait again until October of 2014. Contact us if you have questions.

If you have individual insurance policies please be aware that your carrier may require you to choose a new plan in January. There is talk out there that it may be best to consider all the options given to you instead of sticking with your current plan. PFG is willing to help you.
