A BOP is the right start. Here is where it ends.

A Business Owner's Policy bundles General Liability and Commercial Property into one premium. For most small businesses, it is the right foundation. But it has limits worth knowing before a claim comes in.

It typically does not cover: professional errors (that is E&O), employee dishonesty claims, commercial vehicles, or cyber incidents. Each of those is a separate conversation.

Your BOP is not a complete insurance program. It is a starting point.

Open your BOP right now. Find the "What We Cover" section. Then find the exclusions section and read both back to back.

Did you know a BOP has exclusions for professional services?

An LLC limits personal liability. Your insurance fills the gaps an LLC cannot.

Formation documents protect your personal assets from most business debts. They do not protect your business from a lawsuit that exceeds your coverage limits. They do not cover a client who sues for professional errors. They do not pay for equipment destroyed in a fire.

The LLC is the structure. The insurance is the protection. You need both.

Look at your current business policy. Find your liability limits. Ask yourself what happens if a claim comes in above that number.

Your business policy probably skips the most important thing.

Most business owners carry General Liability and call it done. That one decision leaves real gaps.

General Liability covers third-party injury and property damage on your premises. It does not cover professional errors, data breaches, employee injuries, or your own equipment. Those are four separate categories of risk that require four separate conversations.

A Business Owner's Policy (BOP) bundles General Liability with Commercial Property. It is the right starting point for most small businesses. It is not the finish line.

Pull out your business policy right now. Flip to the exclusions page. Count how many lines start with "This policy does not cover."

What type of business do you run, and do you know which coverage lines you carry?

They thought of everyone else first.

That is what we remember today. Not just the sacrifice. The people behind it. The ones who put everyone else ahead of themselves without hesitation.

317 Insurance Advisors honors all who served and all who did not come home.

The amount your home is insured for may not reflect what it would actually cost to rebuild today. Here is why that matters.

Many people insure for what they paid. Or what Zillow says. Neither number reflects what a rebuild actually costs with today's labor and materials. A replacement cost estimate from your insurer takes about five minutes and gives you a clearer picture of where you stand. Industry research suggests a meaningful gap exists for many homeowners between insured value and actual rebuild cost. It is worth checking.

When did you last update the insured value of your home? If you cannot remember, that is the answer. Tell us in the comments how long you have had your current policy without a review. We are genuinely curious.

Filing a claim without knowing these four things can cost you. Here is what to know before you file.

Most people hand the claim process to their insurer and hope for the best. Knowing your rights as a policyholder gives you more options when a claim is filed. Know your rights. Document everything. Do not sign anything you do not understand. Screenshot this. Save it in your photos before you need it.

Have you ever filed a home insurance claim and walked away feeling like something was off? Tell us what happened. We read every comment.

Theft, hail, flood, fire. None of those are covered by a liability-only auto policy. Not one.

Comprehensive coverage is optional. It is not included automatically. Many people assume it is there because they have insurance. Open your policy right now and look for the word comprehensive. If it is not there, those scenarios are not covered.

Do you know for certain whether your current auto policy includes comprehensive coverage? Yes, no, or not sure are all valid answers. Tell us below.

The state minimum is designed to keep you legal. Whether it is enough after a real accident is a different question.

There is a meaningful difference between driving legally and being financially prepared for a serious accident. Minimum liability limits are set by the state. They are not calibrated to what accidents actually cost. When coverage runs out, the remaining expenses become a personal responsibility. That gap is worth understanding before you need to.

Do you know your current liability limits right now? Not from memory. Pull up your policy and tell us what it says in the comments.

Four things your home policy does not cover. Many people only find out when a claim brings them up.

The gaps in your coverage do not feel real until you need them. These four are the ones that tend to come up at the worst possible time. Save this post. Then open your policy and search for these words: flood, backup, jewelry, seepage.

Which one of these four hit you hardest? Flood, slow leaks, jewelry, or sewer backup? And if you already knew all four, we genuinely want to hear from you too.
