We've had a few clients have accidents over the last few weeks and some missed some crucial steps that would have made the claims process much easier and quicker! So If you’re ever in an accident, here is a refresher on what to do and follow these steps:

🟢 After the accident:
Check for injuries
Move to a safe location if possible
Call 911 if anyone is hurt

👤 Get the OTHER DRIVERS info
Full name
Phone number

🛡 INSURANCE ID CARD
Take pictures of the OTHER DRIVERS ID CARD
Insurance company
Policy number
DOUBLE CHECK EFFECTIVE DATE!! (Is other driver policy still in active?)

📸 PHOTOS (MOST IMPORTANT STEP!!!)
(🚨🚨Take Photos of everything, you can't have enough)
Damage to all vehicles
Other vehicles license plate
Other drivers Insurance card
Other Driver’s license
Accident scene

👮 POLICE
Officer name
Report number

⚠️ DO NOT
Argue or fight
Admit fault at the scene(ask if people are ok but don't say sorry or I didn't see you, etc.)
Agree to handle it privately

🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️What's Next???
After the dust settles and information has been exchanged, Call your agent on what your next steps should be, either filing the claim with the other drivers insurance or filing with yours.

So it's been a busy few weeks here at Collab Insurance!! What have we been doing you ask???

1) Got appointed with a company to start selling life insurance again! So with that said if you're unsure if you need life insurance, you probably do!!! So give me a call and lets talk about it!! Remember Work life policies don't count as a real life policy, but an add on to your current life policy!!!

2) wrote a new commercial account that is the biggest account I've written in my 8 years of insurance!! While speaking with them, we discovered some major gaps in their current Liability policy, we got those plugged with additional coverage for $1500 less than they were paying. We were able to secure Work comp coverage since they did not currently have any, and we saved over 2,000 on their Commercial auto policy annual! Also found their commercial building was written wrong so we are working on getting that corrected, and looks like we will save over $1,000 a year with better coverage!!!

3) Wrote a new client who was paying over $10,000 a year between home and auto, well now they are paying about 7800!!!

4) Earned a new client and referral partner. Had a mortgage emergency where an agent they were working with had gone MIA for a couple of days and closing was in jeopardy since they couldn't make some changes that were needed. They reached out to me and I worked up a new quote thru a different carrier and got them a better policy in both coverage and price!

5) Enjoyed some time away and had a nice vacation lol. But still worked and helped some clients that purchased new cars and a motorcycles!! Rates are great on those right now!!!

There are more big things happening in our future, i cant quite disclose but know it's BIG!!!!

So win for the day!!! I now have a new client who was in a financial hole and being way over charged on her home and auto insurance by her previous carrier. I was able to find them more coverage and save them over $100 a month combined between the home and auto. Which will help them greatly!
